Puff Bar and Vaporsocket – Are They Any Good?
A secretive e cigarette company that has reaped millions of pounds by exploiting a loophole has said it is temporarily suspending sales in the U.S after revelations concerning the owners. A package sent directly to parents claimed that Puff Bar was developing a new, non-tobacco-based alternative to cigarettes with no tobacco. Puff Bar also advertised a “new and improved” option to traditional cigarettes with no tobacco, or mentholated flavour. This product is comparable to Nicorette, an inhalable drug that is available without nicotine.
The manufacturers claim the ingredients in Puff Bar are produced from a variety of guava and water. Guava can be an alkaline base plant from Asia, used for medicinal purposes. Its traditional use has been as a laxative, to alleviate stomach and intestinal discomfort, also to cure intestinal inflammations and ulcers. It isn’t toxic and will not cause cancer, although guava has been regarded as carcinogenic in the laboratory. Guava has also recently been linked to raised blood pressure and coronary heart disease.
The Juul Compatible Pods makers of Puff Bar claim it has replaced the need for cigarettes by delivering nicotine through a vapor that mimics the taste of cigarettes, but will not contain the other harmful chemicals within regular tobacco. They also say one-time usage of the Puff Bar will enable someone to quit smoking forever, since it releases just the right level of nicotine into the vapour. It is because the puff bar was created to release a little bit of the addictive drug in to the vapour.
Among the difficulties in testing the claims made by Puff Bar is that you cannot send a cigarette or a pen-like device into the chamber to check its effects. It can be used in a Puff Bar, therefore you can’t send a cigarette through the pod device to test its effect. This problem was one of the reasons the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association recommended against their use as a smoking cessation aid.
In line with the manufacturers, the puff bars are easy to use, and can be used anywhere. One advantage they say is that they produce a one-time release of nicotine, and that means you need not keep smudging. You simply take a puff and put it away. These devices work on the same basic principle as the nicotine patches. The nicotine and flavouring are absorbed into your bloodstream through your skin and so are released gradually over an interval of a few minutes.
The biggest selling point for the Puff Bar is apparently its variety of flavours, which derive from popular American snacks. It provides an array of flavours including banana, apple, chocolate and peanut butter, and also carrot, grapefruit, hot chocolate, and orange. Additionally, there are fruity flavours such as melon, kiwi and lemon. It is also intended for non-smokers, offering flavours especially for those who want to quit.
In fact, this is not the 1st time a new sort of e-cigsarette has appeared that you can buy. Vaporsocket, which uses an advanced electronic system similar to that of a vaporizer, was designed as a way of testing the effectiveness of an electronic cigarettes option to the patch. But when a group of Italian researchers published their findings in the prestigious Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, it had been discovered that the Vaporsocket cartridge-based vaporizer gave as much, if not more nicotine as a puff bar.
One of the concerns about utilizing a puff bar is the insufficient nicotine. Since nicotine is really a highly addictive substance, it makes sense that smokers would like it over gum and patches. Also, most public health experts are worried that the cigarettes could be particularly dangerous to children, as they can release large amounts of nicotine into the lungs. Although the new Puff Bar products don’t contain nicotine, they do contain propylene glycol, a chemical commonly used in food and cosmetic manufacturing.
